Saturday 20th April ’23-’24 Season Saint Patrick’s Boys A.F.C. played Saint Fiacc’s F.C. in the Carlow District League Youths Cup Final on a beautiful spring day with a very large crowd in attendance. The first half was all you would expect from a local derby but no goals from either side. Pat’s finally broke the deadlock eight minutes into the second half when a Jan Fleszar free kick  flew into the top corner. Fiacc’s equalised from a free kick headed home by Aidan Bradley at the far post. Twenty eight minutes gone in the second half and again Pat’s took the lead from a header by Kacper Zareykki. In the sixth minute of injury time Fiacc’s were warded a penalty and Sanni covered it to take the game into extra time. With nine minutes gone in the first half a Henry Nyami cross was headed home by Adria Pons Barka to put Pat’s back into the lead, a lead they managed to hold onto and win the Paul Kirwan Memorial Cup. The Cup was presented to Captain and Man of the Match Jan Flajsar.
